The Trust would like to express its deep gratitude to the ESB Energy for Generations Fund, following another generous donation to The Iveagh Hostel.
Pictured above are Tony Merriman and Noreen Walsh of the ESB Generations Fund as they present a cheque for €20,000 to Gene Clayton – CEO Iveagh Trust, Paul Harrison – Director of Finance and Kevin Byrne – Manager, Iveagh Hostel.
Having previously donated €25,000 to the Hostel, this further donation will enable the Trust to continue a programme of improvement works, greatly enhancing the building and its facilities for Hostel residents.
The Iveagh Hostel provides accommodation in 195 single rooms, making a major contribution to alleviating homelessness in Dublin. The Hostel differs from others in that it provides full board, allows access 24 hours and has no maximum or minimum length of stay.
While residents are provided with 4 meals a day from the Hostel Kitchen, the previous donation from the fund allowed the Trust to install 9 new semi-independent kitchens for the residents themselves to use.
The generous donation also allowed the Trust to begin refurbishing resident bathrooms – work the Trust would not be in a position to undertake without the support of the Fund.
ESB Energy for Generations – Thank you!
