This year marks the 125th anniversary of the foundation of The Iveagh Trust by Edward Cecil Guinness. To celebrate this landmark, The Iveagh Trust are holding an event running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday December 11th in the assembly hall in the Liberties College, Bull Alley Street, Dublin 8. It is appropriate that we should hold the event here because this is the former Iveagh Play Centre, still affectionately known locally as the “Bayno”.
Rather than have the usual speeches by people you don’t know, we thought it would be better if the celebration took the form of a variety show. We have now identified a selection of talented individuals from amongst our tenants and staff who have agreed to perform on the night for your entertainment.
The hidden talent among tenants includes an opera singer and a classical pianist and among staff, Irish dancers and a blues band. We are honoured to have Frances Black as our guest performer on the night. Food, tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available after the show.
There is a limited capacity in the hall so tickets will be allocated to tenants by way of a lottery. If you would like to attend on the night, please let us know in writing, either by letter to The Iveagh Trust, Head Office, Bull Alley Street, Dublin 8 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday 27th November. Tickets are limited to two per household and the names of all those who wish to attend will be drawn at random.
We very much look forward to seeing you on the night.
