The Iveagh Trust currently houses the following categories of people:
- The Elderly (male & female, married or single, 60 years of age and over)
- Couples (with or without children)
- Single People
- Lone Parent Families
Applications
The Iveagh Trust no longer operates its own waiting list, and the majority of people considered by The Iveagh Trust are nominated to us by either Dublin City Council or Fingal County Council.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for consideration all nominees must be in need of accommodation and be unable to provide it from their own resources. This includes:
- The homeless living in temporary accommodation
- Individuals living with relatives or friends without a home of their own
- Individuals or families living in overcrowded accommodation
- Individuals or families living in accommodation that is deemed unfit for habitation
- Individuals or families in need of accommodation for medical or social reasons
All applicants must be registered on a Local Authority housing waiting list.
We advise all interested parties to state on their application form with your local authority that you would consider voluntary housing, as many vacancies that arise within the Iveagh Trust, must go to local authorities for nomination.
Applicants for Mount Anthony and Moyne House Estates must be 60 years of age or over.
An applicant whose income exceeds the maximum income limit will not qualify for Iveagh Trust accommodation. The income limits which will apply will be those set by the Local Authority where the applicant is living at the time of application.
Persons included on an application must be members of the applicant’s immediate family who normally reside with the applicant. Any other person or persons will only be considered as eligible if it is deemed reasonable by the Iveagh Trust for that person to reside with the applicant.
Local Authority and Housing Association tenants are not eligible for consideration by The Iveagh Trust unless they are nominated to us by a Local Authority.
Interviews
Interviews are offered to eligible candidates for accommodation. All applicants must provide satisfactory evidence of identity and of past and current residences for themselves and all household members. The Iveagh Trust will request documentary evidence from each applicant and will conduct further enquiries as are reasonable in the circumstances. All applicants will be expected to supply evidence verifying their income and resources. They will also be required to provide 2 character references. Where considered necessary, further verification of personal information is sought. Home visits may be carried out without prior notification to check an applicant’s details.
Lettings
Depending on the size and type of vacancies that arise, all eligible applicants will be considered, having taken account of all relevant factors. The most suitable applicant is offered the accommodation based on family size, age, health and the potential impact on the existing tenant mix and child ratio within a particular block. Should there be equality on all contributing factors, the date that the applicant was first interviewed decides the issue.
Change of Circumstances
Applicants must notify The Iveagh Trust of any change in their circumstances, for example:
- A change of address, for themselves or any other person on the application
- Any additions to the family or any other person joining the application
- Any member of the family or any other person on the application who has left the accommodation
- Any change in income or savings
The decision on applications may be temporarily suspended while The Iveagh Trust re-assesses the information provided by the applicant and completes any further enquiries that may be necessary.
Cancellation
A person’s application will be cancelled if:
- They fail to provide documentary evidence or other information reasonably required in order to validate the application.
- They refuse one offer of suitable accommodation
- They make a false application or withhold information which has been reasonably requested
Size of Accommodation
The size of accommodation for which each applicant will be considered will depend upon the size and composition of the applicant’s household. The requirements for each size of household are as follows:

2 bed small - Single + 2
