Progress at Annamore Court

IMG_20160420_091140

Construction proceeds apace at Annamore Court to provide 70 one bed apartments as part of a sheltered housing scheme for Senior Citizens. All new blocks have now reached first floor level. The existing two storey structures have been retained and adapted to allow the construction of two further floors overhead. All works are due to be completed by March 2017.

Annamore Court, located at the junction of Kylemore Road & Chapelizod Hill Road, was previously a derelict site comprising 38 bedsit apartments. The new development will house elderly people nominated by Dublin City Council from their housing waiting list. It is envisaged that some Senior Citizens currently occupying 2 & 3 bedroom houses in the area will move to Annamore upon completion, freeing up those larger properties for families in need of accommodation.

As the longest established approved housing body in the country, the Iveagh Trust has extensive experience in providing and managing social housing and continues to manage similar schemes to that under construction at Annamore Court – helping older people to live independently in the community for as long as possible, with the support of the Trust.
